Central’s Drew Dileo Coming to Sugar Bowl

St. Alphonsus Ace Who Led Parkview To State Title Will Return to Dome

ANN ARBOR — It’s a long way from Wax Road to Ann Arbor, Michigan, but Central’s Drew Dileo is successfully making the transition.  The son of Mike and Melanie Dileo of Central, Drew starred at St. Alphonsus and led Parkview to a State 3A Championship on his last appearance at the Dome.

In January, Drew will return to the Dome Jan. 3 as a Michigan wide receiver when the No. 13 Wolverines face Virginia Tech in the Sugar Bowl.  The 5’8” 175-pound dynamo was coached for four years by David Simoneaux at Parkview.  Coach Simoneaux is now at Central High.  Dileo has scored two touchdowns in nine games for the Wolverines.

Coach Simoneaux said Dileo is a tribute to a great family, hard work, and perseverance.  In January, all Central will be rooting for a Wolverine in New Orleans. —WJ
