Coach Sham Gabehart Leads Wildcat Baseball
Central High has announced Sham Gabehart as the school’s new head baseball coach. Coach Gabehart has over 18 years of experience in Louisiana high school baseball. He replaces Central legend Leo McClure who announced his retirement last month.
Coach Gabehart led Parkway to a district championship in 2022. He was head baseball coach at The Dunham School and South Terrebonne High School. At Dunham, he was twice Coach of the Year.
As an assistant coach, Coach Gabehart worked at Zachary High in 2021 as the pitching coach and was a top assistant at Parkview Baptist under Coach M.L. Woodruff from 2006-2012, where he was a part of two state championships.
Most recently, Coach Gabehart served as head baseball coach at Central Private High School where his team had notable victories over higher class teams such as Zachary.
Athletic Director David Simoneaux added, “We are fired up to work alongside Coach Gabehart and continue to build upon the rich history and tradition that is Central High School baseball.”
Coach Gabehart is married to Alana Addison Gabehart and is a father of two boys: James Gabehart
(12), and Grayson Gabehart (10).
