Central Plays First-Ever Lacrosse Game

Central Plays First-Ever Lacrosse Game

CENTRAL — Central High School has it first Lacrosse Team.  The club began practicing about six weeks ago.  Because it is a club sport, rather than an official school team, students from other schools can participate.

Central has one such student, Tyler Coleman, who is a junior at Denham Springs High School.

The group practices Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 2:30 to 4:30 and on Saturdays.  High school-aged students are invited to come out and join the club or just learn more about the sport.  The coach is Jeff Jones.

Central’s first-ever lacrosse game was played last Saturday at the Cat House.  The team scrimmaged against Dutchtown.  Unfortunately, Dutchtown won 6-0.  With a late start in the season, Central will have just two more games on March 24 and March 31.  Both games are out of town.
