Team Outlook: In 2010 Central was supposed to be rebuilding after losing several key players to college.  However, they made the playoffs last season with a young team, and this year they return one heck of a defense and some really great young athletes on offense.  There are two quarterbacks that can start at any time.  QB Brett Courville has a cannon arm and good feet in the pocket and QB Jake Meyer has the arm and potential to also be very good.  When these two kids develop, this team will be hard to beat and this offense will be tough to stop.  WR Chaz King, WR Hunter Cazes, WR Trevor Harding, WR Joseph Pouciau, and sometimes DB Logan Metcalfe give you a top notch group with really good hands and speed.  The running game will have a thumper with speed in RB Lamonte Janeau, who brings speed and has the size to run between the tackles.  RB Zach Evans (5-9, 175) and RB Devon Gales can run a 4.45/40, and John Davis (5-9, 210) is a great blocker for the run game.  The offensive line is young but talented, led by veterans OC/OG Alex Frank (5-11, 230) who plays bigger and OG/OC Brenton Scardina (5-10, 205).  The defense will be the strength of this team.  The young talented offense just needs time to get the chemistry going into the 2011 season.  The defensive line for Central is one of the best in Baton Rouge, and it’s led by a number of great kids.  DE Zach Hetrick (6-3, 235) had 88 tackles and 12 sacks in 2010 and is very quick.  DE Joey Jarreau (6-1, 225) had 47 tackles and 7 sacks, and is also fast enough to play LB.  Other great defensive players are DT John Milton, DE Matt Edwards, DT Brandon Lee, and DT Tim Colomb (6-2, 260) who is just starting to learn the game with great power and speed.  The Linebacking group will be much improved led by hard hitting Antonio Ragusa, Thomas Eddlemon, and the young, fast, and hard hitting Darius Wallace.  The defensive backfield will miss DB James Richardson, but there’s more talent as a group back in 2011.  They’re lead by sleeper recruit SS Logan Metcalfe (4.55/40, 5-11, 185) who had 81 tackles, 8 sacks, and 1 interception on the season.  CB Justin Lodge (5-10, 160, 4.46/40), Craig Jones (4.5/40), and Paul Broussard (4.45/40) along with Metcalfe make up a very talented secondary.  This is a better team than in 2010, and the sky is the limit for the Wildcats in 2011.
