2,008-Yard Passer Jackson Firmin Is Back for Central at 6’3” 210 lbs.
Central High School quarterback Jackson Firmin is back for his senior year to lead the Wildcats. After a stellar season last year, expectations are high for Firmin this year.
The 6’3” 210-pounder completed 134 of 215 passes in 2023 for 2,008 yards and 30 touchdowns. He also rushed for 450 yards and six touchdowns.
It is notable that he also lifted 280 pounds on the power clean, the best on the team.
Last season Firmin led the Wildcats to the quarterfinals for the first time since 2013. A scouting report on the Central senior said,
Jackson has good size for a 2025 Dual Threat QBs. Does a nice job working his way in and around the backfield to create open passing lanes for himself. A quick thinking QB who’s always in attack mode. Sharp throws made with good judgment. Good anticipation of his receivers’ routes. Makes completions with good ball placement. Jackson displays good range, able to hit on high velocity throws. Can make all the throws required of him, able to hit in all areas of the field. An over-the-top delivery with a fully-extended arm motion. A quick release, getting the ball to his receivers in a hurry. Sound throwing mechanics with added consistency. He works best outside of the pocket, able to seek out potential targets. He does a nice job getting in line with his receivers. Has good speed at a 4.8/40, able to break free from would-be tacklers, with a burst of speed. He’s displays the ability to become elusive out in the open field. A quick-hitting QB who makes quick reads and delivers with decisive throws. Does a nice job making adjustment to the velocity of his throws, creating a softer touch when needed.
