Adam Kwentua Running for Judge

Zachary resident Adam Kwentua announced his candidacy for the vacant District Court judgeship in Division G. The election is set for Nov. 8.

Kwentua highlighted his experience as a Senior Felony Prosecutor in District Attorney Hillar Moore’s office. “My experience in the courtroom prosecuting accused felons for burglary, sexual assaults, and murders has prepared me for service on the judiciary,” Kwentua said.

He has prosecuted hundreds of cases in the courtrooms of Baton Rouge while working as a prosecutor for East Baton Rouge parish since 2014.

“I know from my work as a voice for victims of crime that every branch of government has a role in helping keep our community safe from crime and violent criminals. I have the experience to serve on the judiciary and know the difference between a violent, career criminal and a kid who made a mistake,” he said.

Adam Kwentua was born and raised in Baton Rouge and currently lives in Zachary. He attended University High School and earned a football scholarship to Tulane University where he was part of the first recruiting class post-Katrina.

After graduating from Tulane, Adam returned to Baton Rouge to earn his law degree from Southern University Law Center and has been a practicing attorney since 2014.

He is active in the local community as a youth football coach and mentor for the Gardere Youth Alliance (Gardere Packers & Gardere Saints), Istrouma Baptist Sports Ministry, and as a team leader working with the Young Adult Ministry at Faith Chapel Church of God. He is a regular speaker with organizations such as the Youth Peace Olympics and Fathers on a Mission. (F.O.A.M.)

Adam has also been an instructor at the LSU Law Center as a Mock Trial Coach and is the former Southern Regional Director of the National Black Prosecutors Association.
