Dele Adebamiji Seeking District Judgeshi

Baton Rouge attorney Dele Adebamiji has announced his candidacy for District Judge from the northern district of East Baton Rouge Parish.  He issued the following statement:

I give all glory, honor, and adoration to God and my Lord, Jesus Christ because if not for Christ, I don’t know where I would be. I have always believed that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and such wisdom has always shaped my daily activities.

The love of God has kept me grounded and I do all things as if I am doing it for the Lord. I believe that life begins at conception and I am not afraid to say that I am pro-life as exegesis in the word of God.

I believe in traditional marriage and have been married over 23 years to Dr. Felicia Adebamiji, a lawyer and a lay reader in our church, Anglican Church of Resurrection.

We are blessed with five children; four girls and a boy who slept in the Lord in 2015.

All our children attended public schools and graduated from Southern University, LSU, Louisiana Tech and the last one is a junior at LSU. I believe in our public schools and have great faith that we can raise our children to fear God and be successful in East Baton Rouge Parish.

I believe that the values we teach our children at home can shape their behaviors in school and reduce violence and lack of love in schools, as charity begins at home. I am a proponent of traditional family values. If we teach our children the way they should go, they will not depart from it. Because of the love I have for the children, I coached soccer for 11 years for free. I greatly enjoyed the interaction with the youth.

I will do my best to always protect the Second Amendment, as I believe in the rule of law and that our people have the right to bear arms. Thus, I believe that justice should be rendered accordingly against violent and repeat offenders who have chosen to be career criminals and have sworn to kill, steal and destroy our community, while non-violent offenders are rehabilitated. I believe in a second chance for those who show the inclination that they will make good use of it. I also believe that mental health is real in the courtroom, as I have represented many and believe that we can do more to protect them. My experience representing them showed me that the court system does not have adequate means to safeguard them.

After high school education, my further educational journey took me to London School of Journalism, Fleet Street, London, England and later to Clapham College of Technology, London, England where I received my Diploma in Mass Communication and then attended Southern University, where I received my BA in Journalism and MA in Mass Comm. I also attended Southern Law Center where I received my JD. I also attended Chicago Kent College of Law.

I started my private practice in 1995. Since then, I have tried thousands of cases in federal, state, and local courts. I practiced both civil and criminal cases and also served as Arbitrator in Baton Rouge City Court. I have served in the prestigious Louisiana Law Institute. My love to serve the community made me join the National Guard.

I have been in this community for over 40 years and have diligently served this community and will continue to serve this community. That is why I have decided, with God’s blessing, to run for District Judge, 19th Judicial District Court, Division G – Section 2 in the November 8, 2022 election. For more than 30 years,

However, I cannot do this by myself. I need your prayers, your support, and your vote so that together, we can improve our court system, and in turn, our community.
