CHS Tennis Regional Champions

For the first time in Central High School history, the girls tennis doubles won the Regional Championship.  The tournament started on Monday, April 11 with 32 teams competing for Division I, Region III.  Central High School sophomores Madison Lumpkin and Annalyse Greely defeated four schools — East Ascension, Covington, Live Oak, and Walker — to challenge St. Amant’s Miranda Crooks and Libby Lambert in the final match.

To win a set, a team must win the best out of six games by 2.  Central won 7 to 5 on both sets to win the match and the regional championship.

Madison and Annalyse will go on to compete as one of top seeds at the State Tennis Tournament on April 28 in Monroe.
