Central High’s Powerlifters Win

On February 24, Central High School’s powerlifting team competed in regionals competition held at Woodlawn High School. All five members of the girls’ powerlifting team and one member from the boys’ team placed and will be represent the region at state competition March 17 in Alexandria.
Brianna Huber placed first and Tina Ridgell placed second in the 114 weight class.
Reagan Willis placed first in the 181 weight class.
Alyssa Dixon placed second and Hannah Deizel placed third in their weight class.
Sid Ridgell placed first in the 181 weight class for boys.
Reagan also was awarded a plaque for the Best Heavyweight Lifter in the girls’ competition. She also broke state records for all three categories of lifting: squats, bench, and deadlift.
