JD Lavergne Vies for District 2 Council Seat

Jack “JD” Lavergne has announced his candidacy to serve the citizens of District 2 on Central’s City Council.  JD was born and raised in Zachary.  He married his wife and lifelong Central resident Holli (Drane) and they immediately chose Central as the perfect place to grow their family.  They have three children: Mason (15), Madox (14), and Mila (8) who all attend Central Community Schools and participate locally in extracurricular activities.

JD attended Southeastern Louisiana University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Safety, Health, and Environment.  After the required years of experience, he went to sit for and pass, on the first attempt, the Certified Safety Professional Exam, which is considered the pinnacle designation for a safety professional.  JD also received an Associate of Arts degree from Baton Rouge Community College.

JD is currently employed by ISC Constructors, LLC as the Corporate Safety Manager and has worked for ISC for approximately 10 years.  ISC is a nationally recognized award-winning industrial engineering construction and maintenance company that is headquartered in Baton Rouge.  JD has also held professional roles with Jacobs Engineering as the Safety Manager for the Jacobs Alliance Group (JAG) located at the ExxonMobil Baton Rouge Complex, as well as with Troy Construction as a Project Safety Manager.

JD has coached baseball both as a travel ball coach and locally as a CAYL coach for six years.  He sees coaching as one way to give back to the kids and the community.  Some of the most motivational and influential people in our communities are often our coaches as they propel us to be greater than we ever imagined possible!  JD has also served multiple years in various roles on the Village Lakes Homeowners’ Association.

Words that friends and coworkers use to describe JD are:  Honest, diligent, unambiguous, highly articulate, personable, well spoken, hard worker, respectful, and a man of dignity.

JD is a conservative Republican candidate who understands the value of soft skills, which can be defined as personal attributes that enable someone to interact effectively and harmoniously with other people.  These skills, combined with active listening, research, resourcefulness, and networking are attributes that JD possesses, and he feels are necessary to serve District 2 on Central’s City Council.  He humbly asks for your support on November 8.
