Richard Cobb: Veteran With Passion for Cars

 On Friday, August 19, 2022, Richard Cobb passed away at age 76. Richard was a native of Greenwell Springs. 

Richard was born December 4, 1945 in Baton Rouge, LA to Perry and Maybelle Cobb. He joined the Air Force and produced manuals for operating aircraft. In May of 1966, he married Patricia Gaye Kehrer. They raised one daughter, Stephanie. 

Richard was hired on at General Motors in 1979. Richard worked the production line, later becoming a committeeman for the union, finishing his career in Ergonomics and retiring in 2006. 

Richard had a passion for Classic cars. He built many cars from the 1950’s. He enjoyed going to car shows and could talk for hours about all kinds of cars. 

Richard was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Patricia; his father Perry Cobb; mother and stepfather Maybelle LeSage Cannon and JD Cannon; and brother Charles Cobb and loving companion Carol Kling. He is survived by his daughter Stephanie; sisters Phyllis Martin and Peggy McCutcheon Besson (Jerry); brothers Carl Cobb (Jan) and Jeffery Cobb (Melanie); sister-in-law Peggy Cobb; stepsisters Brenda Campbell and Joyce Polito, and several nieces and nephews. 

A funeral service was held August 25 at Barnes Friederich Funeral Home in Midwest City, OK. Flowers or donations may be sent to 1820 S. Douglas Blvd, Midwest City, OK 73130.

The family would like to thank everyone for all the prayers, cards, and beautiful flowers.
