Businesses on Sullivan Road Hampered by Construction

The improvements to Sullivan Road now underway should be a benefit to businesses along the key artery in Central.  But until construction is complete, many businesses are finding their sales are down.

Lance Butler of Sullivan Hardware said, “It’s not our best time of the year to begin with but the construction is definitely hurting us.”  Sullivan now includes a full paint store. “We can match any color,” he said.  Butler is hoping paint can help boost sales.

At MePa’s restaurant on Sullivan near Greenwell Springs, sales are also down, in part because of road construction, according to Melissa Dykes.  She and her husband Tommy own the restaurant.

Construction should be complete by March.  Meanwhile, residents are reminded to shop the long-time businesses on Sullivan Road.
