28 Oak Point ‘Pick 12’ Contestants Correctly Picked 75% or More of Winners

CENTRAL — 28 Central area residents correctly picked 75% or more of last week’s games in the Oak Point Pick 12 Contest last week. A listing of the contestants is below. Corey Sharp of 18529 Loch Bend in Greenwell Springs is the winner of the first week of the Pick 12 Football Contest sponsored by Oak Point Fresh Market and the Central City News. Sharp, who picked 11 winners out of 12 of featured games, will receive a $50 gift certificate from Oak Point and a chance in an end-of-season drawing for a 55-inch giant color HDTV.

Two other contestants tied with Sharp with 11 of 12 correct picks. They were Brandi Sims of 21580 La 16 in Denham Springs and Joshua Robinson of 11125 Norway Pine in Central. Under the rules, when there is a tie, the weekly winner will be determined by a drawing. Capt. Saul Newsom, USMC, drew Sharp’s name in the drawing. However, Brandi Sims and Joshua Robinson’s names will be entered in the end-of-season drawing for the big screen TV.

In this week’s Central City News, there are two Pick 12 Football Contest Entry Forms. The Pick 12 form for the games beginning Sept. 2 can be found on Page 13. In order to participate,clip that entry form and bring it to Oak Point Fresh Market by 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept.2.

The second Pick 12 Football Contest Entry form is found in the Oak Point ad on Page 16. In order to participate, clip that form and bring it to Oak Point by 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 9. From now on, the Pick 12 Football Contest will be for games one week after the Central City News comes out, instead of the next day. This will give contestants more time to turn in their entry forms.
