Central City News Has 1,000th Friend on Facebook

CENTRAL — The Central City News wants to express gratitude to its Facebook friends, who today passed the 1,000 mark! Facebook has added a new dimension to the Central City News’ coverage of the Central community and allows the newspaper to reach interested citizens directly and immediately.

Each post by the Central City News on Facebook is sent to our 1,000 friends, and they in turn share it with many others.  If you are not on Facebook, it’s easy to get started.  Just go to www.facebook.com and it will guide you on how to start your own page.  It’s free, and it takes less than five minutes.  Once you have your own page, search for “Central City News” and click on “Add as a Friend”.  Then you’ll get regular reports from the Central City News with the latest news.  When you see something you’re interested in, just click on that article and it will open up and give you more information.  It you want even more details, click again and it will bring you to this website, www.centralcitynews.us.  We also post the latest edition of the Central City News on Facebook, so you can see it a couple of hours before the print edition arrives.

One thing to remember about Facebook is that it has privacy settings to keep some or all of your information private, to the extent that you desire.  Facebook is a great tool for reuniting with your friends and keeping up with what is happening.

Today the Central City News reports to Central in five ways — 1) our print edition, which has a circulation of 11,000 copies and readership of over 25,000, 2) this website, www.centralcitynews.us, which has in-depth coverage of local news and the latest weather, 3) the on-line edition of the paper, which is found by clicking “Read Current Print Edition” on this website, 4) the archives, which contain more than 8,000 stories from the past 200 editions of the paper and which are found at “Search Archives 2007-present,” also on this website, and 5) Facebook.

We thank you for your readership and your support. We wish we could send each of our 1,000 Facebook friends $1,000, but, hey, that would be $1 million!
