Vote for President, Mayor-President At Central Library 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The long-awaited Presidential election is almost here with mail ballots already sent out and Early Voting beginning Oct. 18 through Oct. 29. The Central Library at 11260 Joor Road is one of five early voting sites in the parish.  It is open from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday-Saturday.

Drawing the most interest on the ballot are the Presidential election at the national level and Mayor-President in East Baton Rouge Parish. Republican Sid Edwards faces Democrats Sharon Weston Broome and Ted James.  Coach Sid is a newcomer to politics but was unanimously endorsed by the Louisiana Republican Party. 

Other offices on the ballot include PSC, 1st Circuit, Metro Council, and several ballot propositions.  The Central City News recommends a NO vote on all except the Constitutional amendment on coastal restoration.
