Judge John Guidry Planning to Run for La. Supreme Court

Chief Judge John Michael Guidry has announced his candidacy for election to the Louisiana Supreme Court. The primary election will be November 5, 2024.

Judge Guidry is in his 26th year as an appellate court judge on the Louisiana 1st Circuit Court of Appeal. On January 1, 2023, he made history when he became the 15th Chief Judge on the 1st Circuit and the first African American to hold that position in the more than 100-year history of the court.
