Sen. Bodi White to Be Honored After 20 Years in Legislature

Sen. Bodi White (R-Central), chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, will be honored for his 20 years’ service in the Louisiana House of Representatives and State Senate.  A dinner in his honored is planned for Saturday, Sept. 16 at Kristenwood Reception Hall, 14025 Greenwell Springs Road. The social hour will begin at 6 p.m. and the prime rib dinner at 7 p.m.  Evening attire will be appropriate. Tickets may still be available. White was first elected to the Louisiana House in 2003.  At that time, he and the late Donald Ray Kennard represented Central in the House.  He ran for the State Senate 12 years ago, and rose to his current position as chairman of the Senate Finance Committee. He is term limited and cannot run for another term in the Senate. During his career in the legislature, he has authored many important bills but creation of the Central school system is one of the most significant.
