Central City Taxes Continue to Grow Despite Pandemic

Monthly sales tax collections for the City of Central amounted to $590,967.12 for August 2021. This represents a 5.95 percent increase compared to August 2020 and marks the 18th month in a row of sales tax growth compared year-to-year.

Motor vehicles sales taxes on vehicle purchases for the month of August 2021 were $121,700.70. This represents a 13.98 per cent decrease compared to August 2020. Mayor David Barrow said the lack of new vehicle inventory is making its impact.
