President’s Positive Accomplishments Led to Landslide Victory in Louisiana
Members of the Electoral College from Louisiana met in the Senate Chamber of the State Capitol on Monday, Dec. 14, 2020, to cast Louisiana’s eight Electoral College votes in accordance with the Constitution. All eight members voted to reelect President Donald J. Trump and Vice President Mike Pence.
During the proceedings, Louisiana’s members of the Electoral College considered, debated, and amended a resolution commending President Trump for his service to the nation. The resolution highlighted many of the President’s accomplishments.
Central City News editor Woody Jenkins who served as one of two At-Large members of the Electoral College, introduced the resolution and read it to those assembled for the occasion. It was unanimously adopted by a vote of 8-0. By the terms of the resolution, it was transmitted to the President.

A RESOLUTION
To commend the Honorable Donald J. Trump for his service as President of the United States of America.
WHEREAS, Donald J. Trump has served our nation honorably for four years and has now offered himself to serve for a second four-year term; and
WHEREAS, the people of the State of Louisiana have shown their overwhelming support for President Trump and endorsed his reelection by a landslide; and
WHEREAS, we the members of the Electoral College of the State of Louisiana received 1,255,776 votes cast on behalf of President Trump, compared to 856,034 for his Democratic opponent; and
WHEREAS, President Trump’s vote total was the largest for any candidate for any office in the history of Louisiana; and
WHEREAS, this extraordinary vote was a tribute to the wisdom and many great accomplishments of the President, it is appropriate to recount for our fellow citizens and for posterity a summary of what he has accomplished in these four years.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLV-ED by the Electoral College of Louisiana that President Trump is to be strongly commended for the following actions and accomplishments:

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Electoral College of Louisiana, meeting in session this Monday, December 14, 2020, in the Senate Chamber of the State Capitol in Baton Rouge that we commend the historic work of President Donald J. Trump and we proudly cast our votes for him.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution shall be kept by the Secretary of State as a permanent record of our sentiments and that a copy signed by the members of the Electoral College be transmitted to the President at the White House.
