Central High, CPS to Hold Graduation

Both Central High School and Central Private School have made graduation plans that attempt to replicate traditional ceremonies to the extent possible.

Central Private will come closest. They will have ceremonies on the football field. Except for social distancing, it should have the feel of graduations from the past.

The event is planned for 7 p.m. on Friday, May 22 at Central Private School.

That option is not available for Central High School, because the field at Wildcat Stadium is torn up while artificial turf is being installed.

Instead, Central High graduates will go by the high school Thursday, May 14 and Friday, May 15 to have individual videos done of their receiving a diploma. The videos will in turn be integrated into the live graduation ceremonies planned in the parking lot next to Wildcat Stadium also at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 22.

The Central High festivities will be broadcast live by the Central school system and on the Central City News Facebook page.

Central High School has announced that Emily Courtney and Myrissa Eisworth will serve as co-valedictorians, and Grace Lagattuta will be salutatorian.

At Central Private School, Morgan Campbell will serve as valedictorian and Lauren Leep will be salutatorian.
