Central Private Outlines Plan for 2020 Graduation At 7 on May 25

Central Private is planning a special graduation ceremony for its Class of 2020.

Graduation will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, May 25, on the Central Private Football Field.

Seniors will meet at 6 p.m. in their own vehicles in the parking lot of Zoar Baptist Church. They will stay in their separate vehicles. They will be dressed and ready for graduation.

Parents and siblings (immediate family only) will arrive by 6 p.m. and will sit in designated spots in the football bleachers. Each spot will be approximately 10 feet apart. The 33 spots, one for each senior represented, will be first come, first serve.

The seniors will drive together (in separate vehicles) to a parade down Centerra Court to the baseball field parking area. Family, relatives, friends, and other students may arrive at CP by 6:30 or earlier to line the drive and the circles to cheer the seniors on as they drive through them to the field. Posters and applause are encouraged. Participants will stay in their vehicles at all times.

The seniors, dressed in caps and gowns, will walk from baseball parking onto the football field and to their assigned seats. They will come in one at a time and be seated as announcements will be made about each from the press box. Each seat will be at least 6 feet apart.

The shortened ceremony will include:

•Welcome and prayer

•Salutatorian speech

•Valedictorian speech

•Charge from Brother Martin

•Presentation of diplomas

•Presentation of special gifts

•Closing prayer

At least two professional pictures will be taken of each graduate — one in front of the CP backdrop before walking to their seats and another when receiving their diplomas.

After the ceremony, the seniors will leave one by one, in reverse order of their entrance. Distancing will be followed during dismissal.

The school will have personnel at Zoar, the baseball field, and the football field to ensure proper distancing and to coordinate the event.

A table will be provided that will have an ample supply of masks, gloves, and sanitizer for any desiring them.

Distancing and regulations will be observed at all times. However, no one will be requried to participate. Anyone who does not participate will get their diplomas via mail or by pick up.

The school administration believes it has done the work and due diligence to offer a special ceremony for a very special class. We feel this graduation ceremony
