Central Private Backs the Blue

On Monday, March 9, the Central Private Student Council will host “Central Private Backs the Blue Day and Memorial Volleyball Tournament.” The event is being held to show support for law enforcement, to honor our fallen officers, and to raise money for the purchase of Angel Armor (body armor) for area law enforcement officers.

Money to purchase the body armor is being raised through the sale of “Back the Blue” t-shirts, a raffle,  and admissions to the memorial volleyball tournament.  All proceeds will go toward the purchase of body armor.

The memorial volleyball tournament honoring Lt. Shawn Anderson will begin at 6 p.m. in the Central Private gym.  Students, staff, and law enforcement teams will compete. Guest speaker will be Becky Anderson, widow of Lt. Anderson who was killed in the line of duty in 2017.  She is a Central Private alum and mother of Central Private student Breland and Walker High School student, Delaney. Admission for the tournament is $5 for adults and $1 for students. Admission is free for law enforcement personnel.

Raffle tickets are available from student council members in the Central Private School office and at the tournament.  Tickets are $5 each or Five tickets for $20.  First prize is a two-night stay in a cabin at a Louisiana state park of your choice.  The drawing will be held during the volleyball tournament, and you do not have to be present to win.

The Central community is invited to participate.
