In Magazine World, Michelle Obama is Still First Lady, British Royal Family Continues Its Reign in America!

On October 13, I visited a bookstore in my hometown and a grocery store in my neighborhood. This is what I found on one day…  The well-known bookstore has a magazine section of more than 300 publications.  My grocery store’s magazine rack contains about 100 different publications.  I had hoped to find a magazine about First Lady Melania Trump, whom I personally admire for her beauty, brains and grace.  However, I could not find one single magazine that featured her!  

What I did find made me really upset: Michelle Obama was the “Featured Magazine” right up front.  Then there were about a dozen different magazines with members of the British royal family — Keeping all of us in America informed of every fawning detail of their lives…  In the magazine world, Michelle Obama is still First Lady and the royal family reigns not only over Great Britain, but the United States as well!  For the last three years, I have observed the same thing week after week, month after month.  I wondered “Why can’t we have our First Lady?”  

Women across America, like me, want to acknowledge her valuable role in our country, hear from her, and read about the good things she represents: devoted wife and mother, and a really smart lady… Who do we know who speaks six languages?  I remember how Jackie O wowed the world because she spoke French in the presence of President de Gaulle in Paris…  And for this, she was lauded for years!!  The daily attacks on President Trump make me sick and sad.  And the fact that the magazines are ignoring our First Lady angers me, too…  I deeply appreciate the sacrifices President and First Lady Trump are making to save our country.  God Bless the Trump Family!
