Central Cheerleaders: Best in State

The Central High School Varsity Cheerleaders have successfully launched their competition season by winning a 2019 Louisiana High School State Spirit Championship. 

In addition to cheering for the Central High School basketball programs, they are preparing for a return to the National High School Cheerleading Championship (NHSCC) Feb. 7-9 in Orlando to defend their back-to-back National Gameday titles. 

The CHS Varsity Cheerleaders are coached by Amy Felps Stevens. Amy is a graduate of Central High  and a former Wildcat cheerleader herself. This year marks her 19th year of coaching and her third year as Central’s coach. 

Sharon Ball has served as the varsity teams Moderator for the past seven years. She is also the Central High school nurse. 

Chloe Graham serves as captain of the 2019-2020 team, with cocaptains Riley McLin and Bailey Mitchell.
