Fr. Mike Moroney of St. Alphonsus in Central is a genuine Irishman — not one of those would-be Irishman who parades around in green — and Baton Rouge honored the good father as Grand Marshal of this year’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
As a young priest in Ireland, Fr. Mike was recruited by Bishop Sullivan to come to Baton Rouge, and he’s been here nearly 50 years!
