Festival of Two Rivers Draws Community to St. Alphonsus

More than 1,000 people participated in the 7th Annual Festival of Two Rivers at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church last week.

The community-wide celebration featured a carnival, food court, plant booth, games, bingo, performances, $1 raffle, 5K run, and, for the first time, a spaghetti dinner Saturday night.

Fifty percent of the net proceeds will go to St. Alphonsus and the remainder to the school.

JoAnn Stein, executive director at St. Alphonsus, said it was a perfect weekend for the event.  She praised the more than 300 volunteers, led by 1st chair Vicki Whittington, 2nd chair David and Rachelle Stauss, and 3rd chair Ronnie and Lisa Deaton.
