Supt. Faulk: We Support Our Parents’ Decisions

Central Supt. Mike Faulk said it has been a busy week, as Central Middle and Central Intermediate schools have administered a con-
troversial PARCC test to nearly 2,000 Central students in grades 3-8, while responding to issues raised by the fact that many students opted out. Supt. Faulk said, “The taxpayers and the parents of this community are our bosses.  That is one of the reasons we completely support the decision by our parents on whether to participate in the PARCC test.  That is your right, and we back you up.  We were not expecting the large number of students who opted out this week, and we had to make some decisions on logistics very quickly.  Where we made mistakes, please forgive us.  We want every parent to know that you are an indispensable part of this school system and we greatly value your continued involvement and support.”
