Mr. and Mrs. Morris Summers Celebrate 50th Anniversary

Morris and Linda Summers celebrated their 50th anniversary on March 29 at the Oak Lodge Reception Center in Baton Rouge. One hundred friends and family members joined the reception in their honor. The Summers were married on March 27,1964, at the First Baptist Church in Baker, La. Morris grew up in Central, and the couple have lived in the Central community since their marriage. They have one daughter, Melissa Arnold, son-in-law, Tim Arnold, and two grandsons, Austin and Hunter Arnold. A special guest at the event was Claudia Brossette, Linda’s 92-year-old mother. Morris and Linda plan to continue their celebration with a two-week cruise through the Panama Canal, traveling around the Baja peninsula, and continuing on to San Francisco.
