Dr. Tony LoBue Backs Jr. Shelton in Mayor’s Race

Four years ago, Dr. Tony LoBue ran first out of nine candidates for the Central City Council.  He received 5,282 votes — 2,000 more votes than either of the two candidates for mayor that year.  Today Dr. LoBue, who is not running for reelection, announced his endorsement of Jr. Shelton for Mayor of Central: “As I reflect on my time as a councilman, I am humbled with the outpouring of kind words and sincere support the citizens of Central have so willingly given to me.”

“It has been an interesting four years.   There have been some hilltops and some valleys, but through it all, the City of Central is a unique place to live with many caring people.  I am grateful to have served this great community.  I decided to embark on this endeavor because I wanted to give back and to serve the citizens of Central.  I have always kept in mind that I was working for you, the people.  Thank you for putting your trust in me!”

“Because of my own business and the desire for more family time, I have chosen not to seek re-election.”

“As we move forward into the next term, there are many challenges ahead. The upcoming election is very important to move us in the right direction.  I know that Jr. Shelton will be the right candidate for mayor to lead our city.  I am confident that he will work well with the citizens of Central and the City Council..”

“He is a man of integrity whom I have had the privilege of getting to know within the past four years. Please consider giving him your support! May God continue to bless our community. Very sincerely yours, Tony LoBue.”
