School Board Calls Bond Election Nov. 16

The Central Community School Board has called a bond election for Saturday, Nov. 16, to ask voter approval for the issuance of $13.1 million in bonds to finance school improvements.
No new taxes would be authorized.  The funds would be used for the following projects:
•    Construction of a new Ninth Grade Academy on the campus of Central High School
•    Improvements to the parking lots at Central High School
•    Installation of lighting at the Central High baseball and softball fields
•    Removal of buildings no longer in use on the campus of the old Central Middle School
No funds would be authorized for renovations or new construction at the old middle school.
Under the plan, the existing 23.65 mill property tax would decline over the next 20 years.
