CENTRAL — On Monday, the Central Community School Board approved the creation of a Virtual School for residents of the school district.  Any student in grades six through 12 will be able to enroll in the school and study via the Internet.  The pioneer plan will allow the school system to reach out to home schooling families and children with disabilities who cannot come to school.
Students will be able to earn a regular diploma from Central High School and participate in sports and extracurricular activities.  They will also be able to take Advanced Placement courses.
Supt. Faulk said he will release details of the program by June 30.  Families interested in participating should contact him at the school board office at 225-261-1919.
