Ralph Randolph Carpenter

He was born in Springfield and was a resident of Central. Ralph died at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 07, 2012, at his residence.  He was 77.

Ralph was a member of Plumbers & Steamfitters Local Union #198.  He was a pipe welder and a former police officer with Baton Rouge Police Department for ten years, working in the Juvenile Division.  He was a member of Blackwater United Methodist Church.

Visitation was held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East Monday, Nov. 12 and resumed Tuesday, Nov. 13 at Blackwater United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Linda Hagan. Entombment will be at St. George Catholic Church Mausoleum.

Ralph is survived by his wife of 59 years, Dorothy Louise Labello Carpenter; daughter, Donna Lynn Otadi and husband Mike; two sons, Randal J. Carpenter and wife Cindy and Daryl W. Carpenter; sister, Peggy Kilcrease  and husband Kenneth; nine grandchildren, Leah Raup, Lindy Carpenter, Brandi Patin, Derek Carpenter, Kristen C. McLemore, Dalton Carpenter, Kendall Carpenter, Kolby Carpenter, and Joshua Otadi.

Also, five great-grandchildren, Jordon Patin, Everette Raup, Asher Raup, Mason McLemore, and Micah McLemore. He was preceded in death by his parents, Randolph & Beulah King Carpenter; brother: Jerry Carpenter.
