Rev. Sam Raney Retired From Greenwell Springs Baptist

CENTRAL — Rev. Sam Raney has retired as administrative pastor at Greenwell Springs Baptist Church.

Raney was human resources director for Entergy’s operations in Louisiana until he retired in 2004. He has been a member of Greenwell Springs Baptist for 26 years and joined the church staff as administrative director in 2007.

Raney, a graduate of Istrouma High and LSU, served in Vietnam with the U. S. Air Force. Brother Sam’s wife is Karen. He has a son, Neal, a daughter, Sheryl, and five grandchildren.

He plans to do some consulting.
