Central City News Gains Access to City Services Proposals, Makes Them Available to Public

CENTRAL — Four contractors have made proposals to provide City Services in the City of Central for a five-year period beginning July 1, 2011.  The proposals were made in binders and on disks to the Mayor’s Committee on City Services on Wednesday, May 4, 2011. However, the public has had no access to the proposals until today.  The Mayor’s Committee plans to “rate” the four vendors at a meeting tonight, Wednesday, May 11 at Central City Hall.

When the proposals were not posted by the City of Central on its website within a reasonable time, the Central City News made a Public Records Request on Monday, May 9 to examine the documents. A representative of the newspaper was able to view the documents at the office of City Clerk Mark Miley on Tuesday afternoon.  On Tuesday night, the City of Central provided the newspaper with a copy of a disk containing the four proposals, which range from $16.2 million by the low bidder, IBTS, to $18.9 million by the highest of the four bidders, CH2MHILL

The Central City News is making these documents available through this website.  To view each of the four proposals, click on the following links:
