Greater Baton Rouge State Fair Coming To BREC Airline Park Oct. 22 to Nov. 1
The Greater Baton Rouge State Fair returns Oct. 22 through Nov. 1 with Human Cannonball Tina Miser, Louisiana carnival rides, a chili cook-off, musical entertainment, lots of animals, and all the great food, fun and tradition the fair brings every year.
The annual event, which has been volunteer-driven since its start in 1965, is also a major supporter of the Baton Rouge area, with all fair proceeds going back to the community. It has distributed almost $5 million since 1987, following the formation of the Baton Rouge State Fair Foundation.
“People come to the fair for a great time, and we love that. But the fair is so much more,” said GBR State Fair Chairman Cliff Barton, who’s volunteered with the fair for 54 years.
“Every ticket, every ride, every funnel cake supports the Greater Baton Rouge area, from high school volunteer scholarships and educational endowments to the Worthy Cause Grants that support non profits benefiting children, families and quality of life. We’re proud of that commitment.”
Daily and special events are free with fair admission.
This year, along with daily shows from the Human Cannonball, the fair will feature educational demonstrations from Louisiana Snake ID both weekends.
It will also feature livestock shows and special events on weekends such as

•Decorate Your Goat contest
•9th Annual Lego Extravaganza
