West Florida Museum, Greater Baton Rouge Model Railroaders Offer Free Admission on 2nd and 4th Saturdays at 3406 College Street in Jackson, LA

The West Florida Museum is a delight for fans of railroads and model railroading. It’s a beautiful drive from Baton Rouge to Jackson, where an authentic small town Florida Parishes lifestyle still prevails. The museum includes a train station, old-time trains, outdoor model trains, and large indoor model train layouts.  If you want to see a variety of trains, faithful designs, and plenty of action, it’s the place to be!

Maintained by Greater Baton Rouge Model Railroaders, the museum is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays.  Admission is free for adults and children.

In Jackson, have coffee at Cotton Fields Coffee Shop at 3053 Banks St.  Be sure to meet the incredible Fields Day.  After a hard morning of model railroading, have a great lunch at the Iron Horse Cafe, 1427 Charter St.  Right across the street is the renowned Southern Belle Station Antiques.
