Tony Perkins’ Breakfasts Bring Pastors Into Policy Debate on National Issues
In the 22 years since former Rep. Tony Perkins became president of Family Research Council in Washington, he has continued his pursue of the traditional Christmas values that he was noted for in the Louisiana Legislature. His message travels far and wide — from the halls of the U.S. Capitol to the White House to his national radio audience with nearly 1,000 stations across the country.
Now Family Research Council also has a headquarters in Baton Rouge, which includes a state of the art radio and TV production facility. This allows Tony Perkins to spend a little more time at home. It also allows him to continue to reach the faith community here in Louisiana.
At a pastors breakfast last week, he was able to update pastors on important family issues pending in the Louisiana Legislature and in Washington. One key concern is that, despite the President’s commitment to the right to life, he has still not taken action to end access to the abortion pill by mail. This remains a glaring loophole in the fight to protect human life.
Rep. Perkins urged pastors to pray for our public officials and to go to the Capitol and let your voice be heard.
