Central City News Named 2021 Newspaper of the Year

The Central City News has been named Newspaper of the Year for 2021 by the Louisiana Press Association.

The award was based on the newspaper’s news coverage, investigative reporting, photography, advertising, graphic design, and online news coverage. The Central City News is published by Community Press, LLC, owned by Woody and Diane Jenkins.  Woody Jenkins is editor and publisher.  Jolice Provost is business manager, and Kim Powers is capitol correspondent and video producer.

The Central City News serves the City of Central with a circulation of 10,000 and an estimated 25,000 readers of the print edition. It has 36,000 followers online.

Jenkins said the Central City News is proud to accept the award on behalf of the Central community. The LPA has awarded the newspaper 12 first place awards in the Better Newspaper Competition. These

will be announced next month.
