Assistant Chief Who Arrested Rev. Spell Is Himself Arrested in Lurid Escapade

Darren Sibley, the assistant chief of the Central Police Department, has been arrested for alleged cyberstalking.  Back in March, it was Sibley who arrested Rev. Tony Spell for holding church services and wrestled away the pastor’s Bible. That day he held a news conference to announce the pastor’s arrest along with Central Police Chief Roger Corcoran and Mayor David Barrow.

Sibley was arrested in East Feliciana Parish after his car went off the road and a criminal background check showed he was wanted in Mississippi. Sibley said his male lover punched him at least eight times and took brass knuckles to his face before hitting him with a lug wrench and striking him with his car. Sibley was placed on leave Aug. 13. The warrant was issued Oct. 9. He resigned Oct. 16.
