Council Elects Wade Evans Mayor Pro-Tem 4-3

At the first meeting of its four-year term, the Central City Council elected Councilman at-Large Wade Evans as Pro-Tem, the No. 2 job in city government.
Evans, a local business owner, was elected 4-3 over Councilman Aaron Moak. Evans was the high vote getter among the five candidates who ran for the City Council at-Large, while Moak is the only member of the Council with prior Council service.
The Mayor Pro-Tem serves as Mayor in case of the mayor’s absence or inability to serve. Evans replaces Dr. Kim Fralick, who served as Mayor Pro-Tem from 2014 to present.
