Central High Graduates Class of 310

Central High School graduated 310 students Tuesday night during ceremonies held on the campus of Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond.
It was the largest graduating class since the creation of the Central Community School System in 2007 and the first time graduation was held at SLU.
Among those honored were Valedictorian Caitlin Stevens and Salutatorian Brittney Paine.
Central schools Supt. Mike Faulk was the keynote speaker. He honored the graduates and challenged them to become the best they can be.
Daniel Wesley, the 17-year-old Central hero who was nearly killed trying to save a murder victim earlier this year was presented the first Daniel Wesley Brotherhood Award, which will be presented when appropriate to someone who has acted with great love of fellow man and especially for heroism.
Central High School principal David Prescott and Assistant Principal Nathan Corley also addressed the audience.
Central High Class of 2017 officers spoke including class president Kyle Kepper; vice president Darryl Lavigne, Jr.; secretary Brittney Payne, and treasurer Landon Breck-
woldt.
