Central Councilman Elected City-Parish Mayor Pro-Tem
Metro Council member Scott Wilson was elected Mayor Pro-Tem by fellow members of the Council. Wilson will serve as the leader of the Metro Council and as No. 2 leader in parish government. Some political leaders say they hope Wilson will be a “conservative counterbalance” to new Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome. The new Mayor Pro-Tem has represented Central on the Metro Council for the past eight years. He is a Republican.
