Central, Istrouma Grads Crowd NBR Reunion

More than 800 graduates of Istrouma, Central, Baker, Redemptorist, and Glen Oaks gathered once again at the Atrium of the Baton Rouge Sheraton for the Annual North Baton Rouge Reunion.

Most of the graduates were from the 1940’s to the 1970’s, although everyone is welcome. Even Baton Rouge High graduates have been known to sneak in!

The event is held every year from 6 to 8 p.m. on the Thursday after July 4.

This year’s event coincided with efforts by the East Baton Rouge Parish School Board to reopen Istrouma, formerly the largest high school in the state. The school closed two years ago but will be opened in August 2017 after a $22 million renovation. The opening will be on the 100th anniversary of Istrouma’s opening in 1917.
