Dec. 8 Runoffs Completed Clean Sweep of City Offices

A completely new set of municipal officials will be sworn in at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 30, during ceremonies at Kristenwood, 14025 Greenwell Springs Road.
Taking their oaths of office from Clerk of Court Doug Welborn will be Mayor-elect David Barrow, Police Chief-elect Roger Corcoran, and City Council members-elect Wade Evans, Dave Freneaux, Aaron McKinney, Aaron Moak, Briton Myer, John Roy, and D’Ann Wells. Evans and McKinney were elected at-large citywide. Only Moak has previous service in elected office. He was on the Central City Council from 2007 to 2015 but was not reelected in 2014. Although Barrow has never served before in elected office, he served as Chief Administrative Officer for former Mayor Mac Watts and current Mayor Jr. Shelton.
The outgoing officials are Mayor Shelton, Police Chief James Salsbury, and Council members Jason Ellis, Shane Evans, Dr. Kim Fralick, Wayne Messina, and John Vance. Dr. Fralick served as Mayor Pro-Tem. Four years ago, only Councilman Messina had previous service in his office.
