HAPPY BIRTHDAY — John Purpera, Sr. celebrated his 99th birthday on Aug. 22, 2011.  He and his wife, Marguerite, now 94, will celebrate their 77th wedding anniversary on Oct. 16.  John is still very active, mowing his own grass, trimming his hedges, and helping his grandchildren work on their cars.
