Big Travel Weekend for Wildcat Fans

City Park in N.O. Will Be Setting for Shootout Between Central and Jesuit.

The Central Wildcat football team and Wildcat fans will enjoy their only out-of-town game of the regular season this weekend when Central travels to New Orleans to face the Jesuit Blue Jays.

Coach Sid Edwards, who coached at Jesuit for one year, said the Central team will leave at 3:30 Friday afternoon.  He advised fans to leave by 4 p.m. to be sure to make it in time for the 7 p.m. kickoff.

The game will be held at Tad Gormley Stadium in City Park, right off I-610.  Coach Sid said fans who arrive early enough can park on the stadium grounds at a cost of $7.  Parking is free outside that area but it will be a longer walk.

Buy Tickets at Central High. Coach Sid said fans should try to buy their tickets at Central High.  The price is $6.  Central has been allocated 500 tickets and all proceeds will go the CHS.  On the other hand, tickets at the gate are $7 and proceeds will go to Jesuit.

The coach said there are lots of good places to eat along the way but fans who want to stop and eat at a restaurant should leave well before 4 p.m.
