Inauguration July 1st

Local realtor Jr. Shelton will take the oath of office as the 2nd Mayor of the City of Central in Inauguration ceremonies on Tuesday, July 1.

Shelton, Police Chief-elect James Salsbury, and the five members of the Central City Council will be sworn in at 9 a.m. at the Central High School auditorium.  The new Council members are Jason Ellis, Shane Evans, Dr. Kim Fralick, Wayne Messina, and John Vance.

Shelton will replace Mac Watts, Central’s only mayor since incorporation in 2005.  Watts was originally appointed by Gov. Blanco.f
