Washington, Ellis Face Runoff May 3 for Seat
For Central voters, the process of electing a new city government is not over yet. Councilman Ralph Washington missed getting a majority by about 50 votes. So a runoff election will be held on Saturday, May 3 between Washington and the next vote-getter, Jason Ellis.
Early voting will begin this Saturday, April 19 and continue through Saturday, April 26.
Washington has served as a member of the City Council and as Mayor Pro-Tem since Central was incorporated in 2005. He owns Red Stick Cleaners. Ellis is a native of Central and a practicing civil engineer with extensive municipal experience.
