The directory, which is published by the Central City News, contains more than 9,000 addresses and phone numbers for Central residents and businesses.

The 100-page book includes three parts: 1) Community Pages at the front, which includes information about Central city government, Central Community School System, other elected officials, public and private schools, churches, and the Central City News, 2) Central White Pages which includes listings for virtually all residences and businesses in the City of Central, listed alphabetically, and 3) Central Yellow Pages, which includes virtually all Central businesses, organized by product or service category.

The 2014 directory is dedicated to Central schools Supt. Mike Faulk.   Each of the directories has been dedicated to one or two outstanding citizens who have made a profound impact on the Central Community:

• 2009 Central Directory — Dedicated to T. H. Montgomery and J. A. Smith.  Mr. Montgomery represented Central on the East Baton Rouge Parish School Board for 44 years, from 1938 to 1982.  Mr. Smith served as principal of Central High School from 1936 to 1966 and as principal at Central Private School from 1966 to 1976.

• 2010-2011 Central Directory — Dedicated to Staff Sgt. Homer L. Wise of Central whose courage under fire and selfless devotion to duty during World War II earned him the nation’s highest honor, the Congressional Medal of Honor.  He is the only native of East Baton Rouge Parish to ever receive this award.

• 2012 Central Directory — Dedicated to Rep. Donald Ray Kennard who served the people of Central for 36 years as a member of the Louisiana House of Representatives, and his mother, Mrs. Camille Kennard.  The two of them, along with Mr. Sterling Kennard, brought the highest standards of honesty and integrity to this community.

• 2013 Central Directory — Dedicated to Dennis M. Lewis, a Central businessman and owner of Lewis Wrecker.  Mr. Lewis made a lasting contribution to the Central community, serving the people with compassion and good cheer and giving the children of Central a special gift — 25 years of the Central Christmas Parade.

• 2014 Central Directory — Dedicated to Supt. Mike Faulk, the first and only superintendent of the Central Community School System, who has made this school system one of the finest in the State of Louisiana.
