Central’s 2011 Teachers of the Year

CENTRAL — The Central Community School System has honored five teachers as Central’s 2011 Teachers of the Year.

Central schools Supt. Mike Faulk presented plaques and gifts donated by local businesses to:

• Karen Harrison, Teacher of the Year at Bellingrath Hills Elementary School.  Harrison is a 1st grade teacher with 31 years’ experience.

• Tara Thompson, Teacher of the Tanglewood Elementary School.  She is a 2nd grade teacher with 19 years’ experience.

• Stephanie Broussard, Teacher of the Yeat at Central Intermediate School.  She is a 5th grade teacher with 10 years’ experience.

• Anna Kristen Besse, Teacher of Year at Central Middle School.  She teaches science and has 14 years’ experience.

• Brandon LaGroue, Teacher of the Year at Central High School.  He teaches science and has three years’ experience.
